Thea Bransby (she/they) is from Bloomington, Indiana. Growing up, Thea loved to sing. Thea initially pursued studies in vocal pedagogy at Western Michigan University, and was a member of the top choir, University Chorale. Thea then pursued a degree in Folklore and Ethnomusicology with a minor in Gender Studies at Indiana University, with a focus in music and healing.
During her education, she was a participant in the Music and Memory program, helping to curate memory-based musical playlists and live musical experiences for individuals experiencing dementia. Thea felt inspired to learn how to create therapeutic musical experiences for people from all walks of life, so they attended Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (distance) to become a board-certified music therapist, gaining experience working with a wide variety of populations across the lifespan. In terms of a therapeutic approach, Thea operates from a humanistic and integrative lens, and strives to be person-centered in their work.
During their free time, Thea likes to read books or listen to music or podcasts, go to local parks, and enjoy soothing cups of tea. Thea is thrilled to be joining the Dynamic Music Services team, and looks forward to serving the Indianapolis community!
